About Me
The Brooklyn native and self titled “People’s Champ” Stephon Bishop discovered at an early age he had the natural ability to entertain those around him through laughter. Influenced by his idol Eddie Murphy, Bishop decided to pursue a professional career in acting and comedy. Before he sought formal training, Bishop showcased his skills on MTV’s hit show, “Yo Mamma”; a show known for quick jabs and brutal peer rejection. He later honed his craft by training in the Meisner technique at The William Esper Studio and then long form improv at UCB. Stephon would soon find that he had a story to tell and turned to stand up comedy. Bishop captures audiences with his charm and brings humor to the challenges he faces as a parent.
Bishop co-founded the STASH Network, an entertainment company which produced “The STASH Comedy Show” and the “In The STASH Podcast”. Bishop also co-stared in “Connected”, a short film written and directed by MC Jin that tackles the topic of cultural identity and was screened at the 40th Asian American International Film Festival in NYC. If he's not making you piss your pants with laughter, Bishop enjoys beating his son in NBA 2K or schooling him in game of chess.
